Even younger writer

The date on the back of this photo (yes, there was a time, when the printing dates where stamped on the back of photos - you know, before there was digital photography ;0) ) says 1996.

Yes, children, that was around the time the dinosaurs roamed the surface of the earth. 

And yes, there are 3,5 inch floppy disks on and a matrix printer (using perforated continuous paper only) under my desk...

And then, I'll sleep till December. Or until the kids wake me up, whatever happens first.

'Tis the season ...

Final NaNo spurt. A mere 2,5 thousand words to go - the big goal is within reach! Yay!

And, fitting the festive season,  I found the perfect energy beverage to help me pass the last hurdle a very Christmassy way.
(Yes, it really is plum-cinnamon-cloves flavored ...)


Es ist Nano-Endspurt. Nur noch 2,5 Tausend Wort - das große Ziel ist in greifbare Nähe gerückt. Hurra!

Wie könnte man sich für diese letzte Hürde jahreszeitgemäß besser pushen als hiermit?

20 years ago ...

Zwei Jahre später ...

Wie die Zeit vergeht, wenn man sich amüsiert.

Ja, ich weiß, dass ist eine traurige Entschuldigung für jemanden, der das Schreiben zum Mittelpunkt seines Lebens machen möchte und es trotzdem nicht schafft, regelmäßig zu bloggen. Und mit regelmäßig meine ich öfter als alle zwei Jahre.

Falls es ein Trost ist: Ich habe mich tatsächlich amüsiert. Und war fleißig.
Mein NaNoWriMo-Projekt von 2015 - "Die Träume meines Vaters" - ist fertig. Geschrieben, korrigiert, gegengelesen, noch mal korrigiert ... alles!

Jetzt ist es in guten Händen bei der wunderbaren Katharina Hosse von der litmedia.agency.
Und nun heißt es warten und schauen, was passiert. Ich bin jedenfalls schon irre gespannt!

Während ich gespannt bin, geht es schreibend in die nächste Runde. Nachdem ich den NaNoWriMo 2016 übersprungen habe, weil ich noch zu beschäftigt mit den "Träumen" war, bin ich dieses Jahr wieder voll dabei.

Der halbe November ist schon wieder rum, aber es ist alles gut: Die 25.000 Wort-Hürde ist auch schon genommen. Ich bin also noch gut dabei. 

Wie jedes Mal beim NaNoWriMo hatte ich vergessen, wie anstrengend es sein kann, sich jeden Tag 1667 Worte aus den Fingern zu saugen. Im Gegenzug erfüllt es Dich aber auch mit einem unglaublichen Glücksgefühl - wenn die Worte zu fließen beginnen und sich die Geschichte vor Dir langsam entfaltet. Wunderbar!
Sobald ich weiß, worum es in meiner Geschichte geht, werde ich davon berichten. ;0)
Und natürlich auch, wenn ich die Ziellinie überquert habe.

I did it!! 50000 words in 29 days. Yes, I already hit the target last night!

Ah, I am indeed a little proud. And I will be even prouder if I manage to keep going and actually finish the novel - without an external motivator, that is. There's still a LOT of work to do and so much to tell. I don't think that I'm even half way through.

I'll keep you updated.

40k and moving on

Just enough time to squeeze in the news: Reached 40k close to midnight last night and thus earned the final word count badge before the actual finale! Hurrah!

Also, I found out something interesting: No matter how grumpy I might be after a long day with work and kids and chores, no matter how fed-up and wasted - I always feel wonderful and refreshed after my nightly writing session, and also a little proud of myself (especially when I managed to turn the daily word count bar a nice shade of green).
Wish every month could be NaNoWriMo! ...
...
...
Well, no, I guess not. If it was NaNoWriMo every month I would probably get all the real bad symptoms caused by sleep deprivation very soon. Like ... ah ... what's it called ... uh ... amnesic aphasia - that's it!

Right, gotta go back to work. 10k and 8 days more to go - I do have a good feeling about this.
