Review: A Monster Calls

Last night I did something I hadn't done for ages: Staying up late reading on a work night.
Even though my mind kept telling me: Stop now and get some sleep, or you'll regret it!, I simply couldnt't put A Monster Calls down. In the end, I finished it in one sitting.
It was absolutely worth it, even though I read the last 40 pages or so through a veil of tears (okay, more a torrent than a veil).

My good advice: Read it! But not without a decent stacks of tissues at the ready - because not all tales (in life and in fiction) have happy endings and because it is okay to cry over the unhappy ones.
